RVCC presents Sofie Krog Teater's 'The House'

The Theatre at Raritan Valley Community College in Branchburg will present Sofie Krog Teater’s The House, a horror comedy for teenagers and adults, Tuesday and Wednesday, Feb. 28 and 29, at 7:30 p.m. The production of puppetry is part of the Theatre’s 2011-2012 Major Artists Series. Tickets cost $20 each.
Sofie Krog of Denmark founded Sofie Krog Teater in 2003 and created several small circus and cabaret shows before being drawn into puppetry. Her first award-winning puppetry performance, DIVA, has had success throughout the world (including the RVCC stage in 2009). In 2008 she began working with David Faraco, a set designer, puppeteer and actor. Faraco had worked with LibĂ©lula Puppet Theatre since 1994 and became a member of the Company Nao D’amores in 2004. The House is the first joint project created by Krog and Faraco.
Houses are like museums that collect the actions and memories of those who live within its walls. Its facade may look peaceful from the street, but audience members will learn about one particular house that served as a funeral home. Destiny made sure that what had always tormented its owner’s heart showed up one evening at the door.
For the eighth year in a row, Courier News readers voted The Theatre at RVCC as the “Best of the Best” in 2011 in the “Theater” category. To purchase tickets or for more information, call the Box Office, 908-725-3420, or order online at rvccArts.org. Senior citizen, student and group discounts are also available for a variety of performances.
